Teaching and learning aid
FlashCardGenAI is an educational iOS app. It is both a teaching and learning aid that facilitates the organised storage and retrieval of data (text, images, internet page links) researched and sourced by the user about any chosen subject. Data is saved into any number of notes (FlashNotes) which are in turn associated with a flash card (FlashCard) to represent some item of knowledge. FlashCards can be grouped together as needed into sets (FlashSets) representing a topic area. FlashSets can also be grouped together as needed into groups (FlashGroups) representing a broad subject area. This enables users to build their own flexible library of classified information to suit your individual study and learning goals.
Automated generation of self-tests
FlashCardGenAI can then automatically generate both multiple choice and AI generated question and answer tests based on the knowledge encapsulated in any chosen selection of FlashCards enabling the user to verify and consolidate their understanding of that subject matter.
Great for visual learners
Images play centre stage in the design, aiding visual learners as you seek to internalise new information and deliver a classic hook for effective association and recall.
Integrated search and content generation
Features include fully integrated, fast, and intuitive research tools for sourcing representational images and constructing unlimited sets of fully rendered notes. Notes support markdown and KaTeX (streamlined LaTeX) as required for optimal presentation either manually or using premium services for extra for speed and efficiency. This allows both teachers and learners to create FlashCards interactively as information is presented for a rich, personalised glossary of organised data.
Fully scalable
Data is held in the users private Apple cloud account ensuring performance, resilience and security.
Sharing for co-operative working
The system provides managed sharing options to facilitate co-operative working. This enables interactive guided exploration as well as an immediate learn and test cycle between teacher and students regardless of location as required.
Standard version fully functional
The standard app is fully functional using illustrating images selected either from the operators personal iCloud store of photos or from UnSplash (a free internet source of fully credited high-quality photographs) supported with manually entered notes.
Premium features for enrichment and speed
Users can unlock premium features as required by purchasing associated subscriptions to increase the breadth and depth of image sourcing with Google Images and/or to generate content, tests and images using AI.
Screen Summaries
Review each screen in the Screen summaries section for a full description of each button, field and link to find out what the system can do.

A labelled body of knowledge equating to a broad subject area of interest. A FlashGroup is described by any number of FlashSets.
FlashSet
A labelled logical grouping of knowledge optionally partitioning an overall subject area represented by a FlashGroup to which it may belong. FlashSets can stand alone or belong to any number of FlashGroups as required.
FlashCard
A specific area of knowledge optionally partitioning the logical grouping of knowledge represented by a FlashSet to which it may belong. FlashCards can standalone or belong to any number of FlashSets as required. A FlashCard is described by any number of FlashNotes up to two of which can be optionally identified as the Front or the Back of the FlashCard.
FlashNote
An item of knowledge associated with a FlashCard. A set of FlashNotes describe the specific area of knowledge represented by the FlashCard to which it belongs. Each item of knowledge can be represented by an image and/or a description. The image can be sourced from your personal phot0 library, from across the internet or generated with the assistance of AI. The description can be plain text or fully marked up using KateX and/or Markdown.
KateX
A fast rendering LateX style publishing language enabling crips professional presentation of the full range of mathematical symbols and other markdown features to support effective note taking.
Markdown
Lightweight and simple plain text markup language suitable for presenting structured formatted output to support effective note taking.
